Best Overwatch 2 Sensitivity Settings

The best Overwatch 2 sensitivity, the eDPI and cm/360 ranges pros use, why hitscan and projectile heroes want different feels, and how to find and convert your own sens.

Overwatch 2 is a hero shooter, so the "best" sensitivity depends partly on who you play — a flicky hitscan hero wants a different feel from a projectile or tank. But there's a solid range that works for almost everyone. Here's how to find yours.

The short answer

Typical Overwatch 2 settings for aim-focused players:

SettingTypical range
Mouse DPI800 (some 400 or 1600)
In-game sensitivity4 – 6
eDPI (DPI × sens)~3200 – 6400
cm/360~25 – 40 cm

A good starting point is 800 DPI × 5 (4000 eDPI). Overwatch's eDPI numbers look huge next to CS2, but that's just its scale — the cm/360 lands in a normal range.

Sensitivity by role

Different heroes reward different feels:

  • Hitscan DPS (Cassidy, Ashe, Widowmaker, Soldier) — precise flicks and tracking. Favours lower sensitivity, around 30–40 cm/360, for accuracy.
  • Projectile DPS (Genji, Hanzo, Pharah) — leading shots and quick repositioning can take a slightly higher sens.
  • Tanks & most supports — need to turn fast to track flankers and manage space, so a bit higher sensitivity often helps.

If you one-trick a hitscan hero, lean low. If you flex across roles, pick a middle value (around 800 × 5) you can play everything on.

eDPI and why the number transfers

Your real sensitivity is DPI × in-game sens = eDPI. Overwatch uses a large scale, so 800 × 5 = 4000 eDPI — but that's not "faster" than CS2's 800 eDPI, because each game turns a different amount per unit. The figure that actually transfers between games is cm/360. See eDPI explained and what mouse DPI is.

How to find your Overwatch 2 sensitivity

  1. Set 800 DPI and leave it.
  2. Start at 5 in-game (4000 eDPI) and play a range of heroes for a few days.
  3. Adjust in small steps — missing hitscan flicks? Go lower (4.5, 4). Getting caught out by flankers you can't turn on? Go slightly higher.
  4. Commit for at least a week. Aim is muscle memory — see how to improve your aim.

There's also a separate relative aim sensitivity while zoomed (Widow/Ashe scope) you can tune if you snipe.

Coming from another game

Don't copy a raw number — Overwatch's scale is different from everything else. Convert your exact feel with the sensitivity converter so your cm/360 stays identical and your aim carries straight over.

FAQ

What is the best sensitivity for Overwatch 2? Around 3200–6400 eDPI (e.g. 800 DPI × 4–6), which is roughly 25–40 cm/360. Start at 800 × 5 and adjust for the heroes you play.

Why is Overwatch 2 eDPI so high? Overwatch uses a large sensitivity scale, so the eDPI number looks big — but it isn't actually faster than other games at the same cm/360. Compare by cm/360, not eDPI, across games.

Should sensitivity change by hero? A little. Hitscan DPS benefit from lower, more precise sens; tanks and some supports from slightly higher for faster turns. If you flex, pick one middle value you can play everything on.

How do I convert my sensitivity to Overwatch 2? Use the sensitivity converter — it matches your cm/360 from any game to Overwatch's scale.

What DPI is best for Overwatch 2? 800 DPI is the common standard. The DPI number matters less than your resulting eDPI and cm/360.
