Best Apex Legends Sensitivity & Settings

The best Apex Legends sensitivity, the eDPI and cm/360 ranges pros use, why tracking matters more than flicking, and how to find and convert your own sens for free.

Apex Legends asks something different from your aim than CS or Valorant — it's a fast, movement-heavy game where tracking a strafing target matters more than one-tap flicks. That shifts what a good sensitivity looks like. Here's the range and how to find yours.

The short answer

Typical Apex pro and high-rank settings:

SettingTypical range
Mouse DPI800 (some 400 or 1600)
In-game sensitivity1.2 – 2.2
eDPI (DPI × sens)~1000 – 1600
cm/360~25 – 40 cm

A solid starting point is 800 DPI × 1.5 (1200 eDPI). Notice the eDPI looks higher than CS2 — that's because Apex turns less per unit, so the cm/360 ends up in a similar ballpark.

Why Apex sens sits a bit higher

Apex is built on movement — sliding, strafing, air-strafing, quick 180s to catch a flanker. You need to turn faster than in a slow tactical shooter, which nudges sensitivity up slightly. But you still need control to track a jittering target across your screen, so most pros land around 25–40 cm/360 — quick, but not so fast you can't stay on target.

Tracking beats flicking here

Unlike CS2's one-taps, most Apex gunfights are won by keeping your crosshair glued to a moving target while you both strafe. That's a tracking skill, and it's very sensitivity-dependent: too high and you can't hold a line, too low and you can't keep up with a close-range strafe. Practise tracking specifically — the aim trainer and target click test help.

eDPI and why raw numbers don't transfer

Your real sensitivity is DPI × in-game sens = eDPI. Apex's eDPI numbers look bigger than CS2's, but that doesn't mean it's "faster" — each game turns a different amount per unit. The only figure that transfers is cm/360. Read eDPI explained if that's fuzzy.

How to find your Apex sensitivity

  1. Set 800 DPI and leave it.
  2. Start at 1.5 in-game (1200 eDPI). Play a few sessions before judging.
  3. Adjust in small steps — losing close-range strafe battles? Nudge up. Can't track at range or overshoot? Nudge down.
  4. Commit for a week. Constantly changing sens is the fastest way to plateau — see how to improve your aim.

Also set your per-optic (ADS) sensitivity — Apex lets you fine-tune how sens scales when aiming down different scopes. Leaving it at default is fine to start.

Coming from another game

Don't copy a raw number from CS2, Valorant or Fortnite — convert it. Use the sensitivity converter to match your exact cm/360 in Apex, so your muscle memory carries straight over.

FAQ

What is the best sensitivity for Apex Legends? Around 1000–1600 eDPI (e.g. 800 DPI × 1.2–2.2), which works out to roughly 25–40 cm/360. Start at 800 DPI × 1.5 and adjust from feel.

Why is Apex sensitivity higher than CS2? Apex needs faster turns for its movement-heavy fights, and the game turns less per unit of sensitivity — so the eDPI number is higher even though the actual cm/360 is similar.

Is tracking or flicking more important in Apex? Tracking. Most fights are won by keeping your crosshair on a strafing target, which is very sensitivity-dependent. Practise it on the aim trainer.

How do I convert my sensitivity to Apex? Use the sensitivity converter — enter your current game and settings and it gives the Apex value that matches your cm/360.

What DPI is best for Apex? 800 DPI is the common standard. As always, the DPI number matters less than the resulting eDPI and cm/360.
